Labas is a vibrant, cheerful and friendly digital telecom brand targeting a young audience. We prototyped and designed a cutting-edge user interface for its mobile app, bringing the brand’s energy to life through an engaging experience.

We started with a competitor analysis to gather best practices in global telecom app UX/UI design. Detailed prototypes helped us define the essential functionality and quickly visualize the app’s overall structure and interactions.

A mobile telecom app needs to be not only visually appealing but also highly functional, and finding the right balance is no small task. We explored multiple design concepts before arriving at the final UI/UX strategy. Some of the rejected explorations are shown below.

Onboarding screens are a user’s first real interaction with the product — and we made sure that first impression feels right. Bright and lively visuals infused with the brand’s personality create an emotional connection — Labas is on the same page with its customers. The concise introduction to the app’s key features smoothly guides users toward registration, making the app feel simple and welcoming from the very beginning.

The challenge with the main screen design for a telco mobile app is to display a significant amount of details — including balance, service limits, active subscriptions, promotional offers and other information — without overwhelming users. We solved this with a clean layout, smart visual hierarchy, and intuitive UX patterns.

Some of the UX solutions we implemented aren’t typical for telecom apps, but they resonate with Labas' audience. For example, promotional offers are displayed in a story-like mode for a more detailed presentation.

Payment service is one of the key functions of a digital telco product. We developed a functional UI that integrates multiple in-app payment options and ensures great usability.

Functional mobile design shouldn't contradict the brand strategy. Throughout the app, we communicate Labas’ core brand values and youthful energy with inspiring graphics, a bold color palette and elaborate interface details.

In total, we’ve designed around 250 screens for the app. We thought through all intermediate states, microanimations, icons and many other elements in order to craft a cohesive user experience. This level of consideration is what truly custom app design requires — and it ultimately results in delighted customers.
